| People from OCN and other forums are just trolling it now, one guy just bid £1500, before that someone bid £1,337 EDIT: lol current bid.. £9,999,999.99 Oh and btw, Got SSD all set up, You can tell the difference in speed slightly but tbh I would not pay full price for one unless I had money to waste :l Boot times etc are better, full restart including post time on WD640 black was around 78 seconds, with the SSD it's 45 seconds. Time from windows loading screen untill all services and background thingies loaded with the WD640 was 29 seconds, with SSD 10 seconds :l Everything feels a little quicker but £85 quicker? I think not __________________________________________________ |

| I'm thinking about buying a fan/heatsink for my RAM but I'm not sure if its worth it... Is this new btw? --> EDIT: I almost forgot to tell you, my quest for 1000MHz on my 5770 is a fail. I tried to over volt it but when I turn on MSI Kombustor to check stability the driver crashes. I'm gonna restart and try again later when I'm not ticked off at it. If I try now I may end up frying it accidentally-on-purpose. |

| ram cooling is pretty much worthless ;x
Alsooo don't bother with kombustor, especially when overvolting, puts a stupid amount of stress on the card, same with Furmark, seen a few people kill cards that way, most people who hit 1ghz core only run it for benches, 3Dmark etc so no need for 100% stability but anyway, just use games for testing, might take longer but it's safer. __________________________________________________ |

| Hmm, I could use Far Cry 2's benchmark for that. And I did notice that kombustor really pushes my gpu. The hottest it gets while gaming is about 55C, and that's overclocked to 920/1220, but with kombustor I've seen it get all the way up to 66C. I was thinking about getting a ram cooler just in case I want to overclock my i5. although tbh I prolly won't. |

| Hm, that's not to hot for kombustor, still though, those progs make me paranoid and a ram cooler won't help with CPU overclocking ;x Probably wouldn't help memory overclocking either, unless you were doing suicide runs or something You should OC that i5 though, even if you just see how far you can take it on stock voltage first.. btw I just installed Oblivion onto the SSD, you know how when you are walking around in big areas sometimes it stutters etc while loading stuff coming into view or loading areas etc, well no stutter at all now, it's so smooooth I've had Oblivion installed on several different harddrives with different GPU's in the past and it's never felt like this :l Can't wait for Skyrim now ;x __________________________________________________ |

| Yeah the mobo is your main worry ;l if anything, I would buy some little copper mosfett/VRM sinks for around the CPU area http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/Enzotech-Passive-Mosfet-Cooler-10-pack--MOS-C10-pid-13321.html Something like these, but in the right size of course ;x but srsly, OC that i5 naow D; can't do no harm seeing how far it will go at stock vcore, might manage 3.2ghz __________________________________________________ |

| I just hacked my Skydrive account and mapped it as a network drive. Only kinks are that you can't see how much room is on it and The upload/download speeds suck. But they always suck on Skydrive, so... | Spoiler: | | | |
EDIT: I don't recommend trying it though. My computer flipped the fuck out when I tried to restart. Had to reboot in safe mode so I could disconnect Skydrive. |

| Awesome Have you ordered yet? New Nvidia cards are released very soon and prices may drop ;x andandand I would recommend trying to get something with more than 1gb of vram, I really regret not getting something with more __________________________________________________ |

| More vram? Didn't know anything used more than a gig. I thought those 1.5/2gb cards were just a gimmick. lol And no I haven't ordered it yet. I was planning on doing it soon though, before I spend all of me money |

| You'll start seeing 2gb become standard soon, even on mid range cards. BF3 struggles with just 1gb, maxed out at least. Skyrim loves vram too, it's not so bad stock but once you start with all the high res texture mods etc.. I've had to stop installing texture mods and lower a lot of settings, otherwise my Skyrim would be looking better than Crysis But yeah.. If it's going to have to last you the next couple of years, I'd hold on for the new Nvidia GPU's, see how they are priced or hope the older cards drop in price. Or.. There is even ATI again ;x andandand overclock your CPU __________________________________________________ |
