Hey rambo, do me a favour ;x

    If you still have skyrim installed, download and test this for me D;

    http://www.mediafire.com/?g9narr59xu5bf84

It's just an ENB profile I'm working on for lighting etc. Just extract the contacts of the .rar into your Skyrim folder then start up skyrim. if you want to disable it ingame to compare press shift + F12 to disable ENB and Pause to disable the FXAA tool, I think it may cripple your PC though depending on what settings you're running Sad buttt I need input on what I should change and what looks ok ;x To uninstall it just delete all related files from your Skyrim folder.

Heres a night time comparison btw, the ENB shot is actually lighter than it appears in game ;l

    Stock

    ENB

It looks a bit dark during the day, but that might just be me. In caves it looks awesome, I always thought it was too bright in "dark" areas and I like how the candles and torches don't flare quite so much. Much easier on the eyes.

I only tried it for a few minutes though, so I'm going to keep testing. I'll let you know what I think later tonight.

I did have the settings maxed out and was getting plenty of FPS. But when I started testing your ENB profile my FPS dropped to less than 1. Shocked

Oh and, I started a new game to do the testing, then I remembered how awesome Skyrim is, so now I'm playing again. Razz
I just need to download the latest patch, but thats gonna take a few days.

Yeah, I take a 20FPS hit using that config, you should disable any AA you have set ingame when using it btw, the FXAA tool handles that. I like how it forces you to use torches in dungeons though and that it actually gets dark at night ;l What time of day do you think it's to dark? Maybe it's just the time of year? ;x I don't think mine looks to dark, might be some of my other settings though.

This looks a little washed out since I changed it to jpg..

    Spoiler:

I just made some changes btw, should make that config playable, just overwrite this file, let me know if it improves fps please Wink AMD cards are known to have trouble with ENB since the guy who made it only has an Nvidia card Razz

andandand, you should really install steam, they have the skyrim steam
workshop up and running now with full mod support, just subscribe to a
mod and it automatically downloads and installs when you next start the
game, even auto updates. I'll still be using nexus but it's good for
quickly installing lots of small mods.

I take it back. It was just later in the day than I thought it was and it got dark a little faster than stock. I turned AA off ingame and that made my FPS go up enough that I could turn everything else back up to max. But it was a little choppy.

I need some way to display my FPS though. MSI afterburner on-screen display makes my game crash. Google says I should download fraps, but its about 5:30 am here, so that will have to wait.

yeah I use fraps too, any kind of monitoring software like evga precision, afterburner etc will cause it to crash with enb + FXAA, even before that I couldn't get them to work :l

did you try the updated file I uploaded yeah? Was it a big jump in FPS? I gained 30FPS from it Wink

btw the latest patch improves performance a lot, also the CPU clock scaling in Skyrim is pretty awesome, benefits a lot from CPU overclocking.

I only got a 10FPS boost from it. Shocked

So I didn't get a huge jump but I'm getting a steadier frame rate. Its a lot less choppy now.

I'm getting an average of 45fps now, minimum 30fps.

    Thats not bad for a 5770 I guess ;o

I think I got a huge boost because I'm running lots of texture mods and was running out of vram even before ENB Razz

    More changes btw

    http://www.mediafire.com/?4tupq6q79idfj5w

This one is almost 8mb because I included the sky textures, I don't think your sky would look right using ENB without it. btw did you confirm the FXAA tool was working in game? Pressing pause to disable it should make things slightly lighter and boost FPS a little, best to keep it enabled to smooth out jaggies though ;x Plus in the new version I've increased saturation a little to make it more colorful, it may make nights slightly blue though ;x

K the blue was to much so I've made some final changes.. think I'm done with it now..

    http://www.mediafire.com/?d67vm3dij6hxbxj

    Self extracting installer version Razz

Whites are much whiter, no more blue tint in show and nights are a little less blue

Sorry I haven't posted, I was having dialup problems.

I didn't notice much of a blue tint but it did seem a little too dark at night. Even with a torch I could only see a couple of feet in front of myself.

It looked a little milky, so I turned brightness down a bit in game. That fixed it but I may have turned it down too far. Razz

I'll dl the next one and try it out.

I haven't been on much myself, reached my data limit Sad

I've made more changes again, I'm pretty stuck where I am now though ;l I only know how to edit so much of the config Sad There was a great guide but for some reason the guy who made it took it down.. here it is anyway http://www.mediafire.com/?s0plp3iwdqn92k2 - Don't worry about it being a .exe ;x

btw if you want to tweak it yourself this is the installer for the FXAA injector

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=131

and a lot of lighting etc can be changed within the enbseries config file, that you will already have in your skyrim directory from my ENB config. Theres lots of other configs around too from other people, much better than mine Razz

heres a basic write up of what some settings do, I didn't write it, some guy on OCN did.

    Spoiler:

btw which one looks best? ;x

I kinda like how the wood looks old in the first pic, but other than that I prefer the second.

It's just the light from a nearby fire making the wood look that way ;]

I'm trying to keep it close to stock but a little more colourfull, I hate how torches/fires look stock D:

I originally had everything stock except fires, window glow and the sky colour, I might just go back to that ;l

this is how it's looking now btw

    Random guard, not me Razz
